Santa Maria sells out at second annual The Sharing Table fundraiser

On April 26, Santa Maria Community Services hosted it second annual The Sharing Table fundraiser. The event celebrated the Cincinnati community, while bringing awareness to childhood poverty in the area. Santa Maria is a place-based nonprofit in Cincinnati’s Price Hill community which serves close to 4,000 individuals each year – each living below the poverty line. Santa Maria’s mission is to help families achieve their financial, educational, and health related goals to move out of poverty and toward self-sufficiency.

This year’s fundraiser was held at the unique and historic Union Hall in Over-the-Rhine. The sold-out event provided guests with local drinks, all-you-can-eat appetizers and desserts, and unlimited soup tastings from area restaurants. Guests were joined by local musician, Harold Kennedy, who is well-known for his performances with such artists as Montgomery Gentry and Loretta Lynn. Bowls donated by local artists within the Cincinnati Clay Alliance were available for purchase, in addition to raffle tickets for the grand prize of over $2,000 worth of Cincinnati gift cards and tickets to area restaurants, breweries, and events. Proceeds from the evening’s event support Santa Maria’s services and programs.

Santa Maria would like to thank the following sponsors for their support of this year’s event: Presenting Sponsor Nehemiah Manufacturing Inc.; Impact Sponsor Cincinnati Children’s; Supporting Sponsors Community Action Agency, Joan Friedmann, and Sisters of Charity; Community Sponsors Big Co. Small Co., First Financial Bank, PNC Bank, and Western and Southern Financial Group; and Friend Sponsors Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati USA, Kroger, Maxfield Associates LLC, Model Group, Neyer Properties, NKU Latino Programs and Services, The Pinnacle Group, and Warsaw Federal.
