conditions that challenge their ability to accomplish self-sufficiency.
With the support of donors

provide the services that help them help themselves.
You are a primary resource, helping to make it possible for Santa

Testimony: Leaving
a Legacy, by Mike Gentry
From 1988 until I rotated off in 1997, I served
on Santa Maria's Board of Trustees in various capacities including
Treasurer and President. It was a wonderful time! I enjoyed myself,
made contacts, got out of my comfort zone and stretched as a person.
In April 1996 my wife Becky and I welcomed our daughter
Grace into our lives. Grace was the catalyst for us to begin thinking
about estate planning. Becky and I talked. We knew we wanted to
leave Santa Maria money, more than I could write a check for at
the time, so we agreed to include Santa Maria in our will. We
didn't have to "soul search." It was an easy decision
after seeing the growth of the agency during my tenure, liking
the work being done and knowing we wanted to give something back,
leave a legacy.
Santa Maria is offering the right programs and delivering
good services. I brought my skills to my various Board roles,
but at the end of the day, money is what Santa Maria needs to
continue its legacy of solid programming and good service.
It is my hope this testimony will be the catalyst
for you to make a planned gift of your own to Santa Maria. Call
your attorney of CPA to learn about the options available to you
or call Laureen Niehaus-Beckner, Development Director with Santa
Maria, who can be reached at 513-557-2730 ext. 409.
